DESCRIPTION

During your freshmen year . . .
All freshmen attend an assembly in the spring that will introduce them to the academies on campus.  Be sure to stop by the Health Academy table to get the information you'll need and set up an interview.

During your sophomore year . . .
Students will become familiar with the functions of the Health Academy in general.  You'll enjoy educational fieldtrip experiences.  All students will be enrolled in Medical Core, taught by Dr. Foster. In this class, students learn basic anatomy and physiology and foundational medical terminology while exploring a variety of health-related careers and essential skills.  You'll also have the exciting opportunity to job shadow at a local medical facility.

During your junior year . . .
Our juniors enjoy fieldtrips, team days, HOSA State Competitions and much more. Students take the Emergency Medical Responder class, taught by Mrs. Demerjian, which teaches CPR and first aid.

During your senior year . . .
Seniors will have the following course options: Biotechnology, Sports Medicine, Nurse Assistant Pre-Certification Program and Dental Assisting (held off campus and after school).  Fieldtrips to colleges help our seniors realize and plan for life after high school.  You'll participate in our annual Pinning and Medal Ceremony where we recognize our student's success.
