California High School Guided Study teacher and PE teacher Lindsey Kennelly recently earned National Board Certification, the most respected professional certification available in education.
The certification demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and practices required of an outstanding educator, with studies showing that students of certified teachers outperform their peers in other classrooms.
With the addition of Kennelly, there are now 30 National Board certified teachers in Whittier Union, accounting for 5 percent of its teaching staff – significantly above the state average of 1.6 percent and national average of 3 percent.
