California High School

8th Graders Invited to Future Condor Night

California High School is inviting future freshmen and their parents to attend Future Condor Night at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, when members of the class of 2023 will receive valuable information about classes and programs available at each campus.

Teachers, students and administrators will host Whittier-area eighth-graders for an evening of exploration of programs available, including: Advanced Placement courses and challenging honors programs; college preparation and counseling; innovative career academies; award-winning athletics programs; visual and performing arts programs; extensive support services; and extracurricular activities.

Cal High has earned the state’s highest award: The Gold Ribbon School Award. The high-performing school has also received a Golden Bell Award, the highest recognition given by the California School Boards Association (CSBA) and is home to numerous innovative career technical education academies.

Nearly 97 percent of students graduate from the comprehensive high schools in four years; 3 percent who receive support in alternative school structures (Sierra Vista and Frontier high schools) graduate in five years, bringing the District’s five-year graduation rate to 99 percent.
