hello future condors and families I'm Shaina Jones and it is my absolute honor and privilege to serve as the principle of California high school you're about to embark on 1 of the most exciting journeys of your young life beginning High School where you will spend the next 4 pivotal years and I want to tell you why cal high is the absolute best place for you to learn grow and Thrive what is it like to be on our campus well the vibe here is that of a thriving Community where all Condors have the ability to soar our success is built on the foundation of the incredible people who work here from our dedicated teachers counselors our instructional support staff to our amazing clerks custodian security team Food Service workers and transportation Associates we are all here for 1 reason we care deeply about the success of our students so what does a typical day look like here we are very fortunate to have a block bell schedule this means that most days you only attend 3 of your 6 classes this schedule is intentionally designed to give you plenty of time in each class to process learning engage in meaningful discussion and complete assignments without feeling rushed call high is known across the state for our incredible signature programs we boast a spectacular 5 California partners mm the most of any High School in the state these are not just clubs they are rigorous 3-year programs that give our students real hands-on experience in the industry sector we have the AR architecture and engineering Academy our automotive technology academy our business Academy our culinary and Hospitality academy and our health careers Academy Beyond ourm we proudly host the Puente program a award-winning program that provides extensive academic counseling and mentoring support specifically designed to help educationally underserved students gain acceptance to 4-year universities and finally we offer our very own unique Scholars Program on campus this is a challenging 4-year academic track that features a rigorous course load of honors and AP courses a community service component College visits and comprehensive college application support each of our programs offers our students a built-in Community a true place of belonging and an invaluable system of support High School is about so much more than just classes and at Cal High student involvement is a core part of our identity our students have a tremendous number of options to get connected you can dive into our robust programming of elective courses offered during the school day or you can join 1 of our award-winning Performing Arts programs like our choir theater or dance groups if Athletics is your passion we boast Championship level Athletics in many sports and for every other interest imaginable we have over 65 student interest clubs from chess to coding from environmental activism to cult cultural appreciation there are multiple avenues for you to get involved navigate your interests hone your skills and ultimately grow and develop into the incredible young adults you are meant to be cal high is truly a special place with caring dedicated adults and a spirited student body that contributes positively to our entire School community and what makes me most proud to be the principal of California high school it's hands down seeing our students shine it's seeing them earn school or community Community Awards it's the joy of watching them make hard-earned improvements in their classes it's cheering them on as they win League championships or tough CIF matches it's the moment they receive their letters of acceptance to their dream schools and most of all it's watching him walk across that stage at graduation knowing they have accomplished a significant life-changing goal that is what brings me the most joy I love my job and I love our school to all of our future Condors your high school journey is right around the corner and it's going to be 4 of the most memorable years of your life we are so much more than just a school we are a family a supportive community and a place to find my opportunity we can't wait for you to join our Hi family and share your success to go Condors go Condors go Condors go Condors go Condors go condors
